Britain's Prince Philip is no longer going to be carrying out royal duties. Word came from London this morning that the 95-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth the Second will step down.
There had been widespread speculation about an announcement from the royal family after the Queen called an emergency meeting for today.
Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, will turn 96 this June.
Sources at Buckingham Palace are dismissing internet rumors of a royal death. The speculation began after reports circulated about an emergency meeting being called at Buckingham Palace for sometime this morning. A royal source tells "People" that there is "no cause for alarm." The "Daily Express" says the palace flags are not at half staff.
