The black caucus in the Florida Legislature is defending Congresswoman Frederica Wilson and calling on the White House for an apology.
Senator Perry Thurston says the President demeaned the Miami Democrat in a series of tweets after Wilson criticized Donald Trump's condolence call to a Gold Star widow. And he says White House Chief of Staff John Kelly tried to defend his boss by lying about Wilson's statements at the 2015 dedication of an FBI building in Miramar.
Thurston says they expect this sort of behavior from Donald Trump but were hoping for more from Kelly.
