"In the battle between darkness and light, light has won." That's how Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn is characterizing the arrest of a suspected serial killer.
Twenty-four-year-old Howell Emanuel Donaldson the Third will be charged with four counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths of three men and one woman in the Seminole Heights neighborhood.
At a late-night news conference, police Chief Brian Dugan said Donaldson was taken into custody yesterday at a McDonald's where he was employed after police got a tip that he had brought a loaded gun to work.
Dugan said it was decided to announce the arrest quickly "to let the people of Seminole Heights get a good night's sleep."
