Nine states are affected by this recall, including Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Over 200 million eggs were recalled on Friday after the Food and Drug Administration announced the possible contamination of Salmonella Braenderup in eggs coming from Rose Acre Farms in Hyde County, North Carolina.
At least 22 people have gotten sick so far, as per the FDA.
If you have eggs in your pantry from brands including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, Food Lion, Glenview, Sunshine Farms, Great Value, and Nelms, you need to "throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for credit or refund," according to FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb.
The affected eggs are from plant number P-1065, and the packaging date printed on the side of the carton ranges from 011 through 102. You can click here for the full list of names and lot codes linked to the recalled eggs.
