I would have freaked out! The alert was sent at 1:45 a.m. Sunday and fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead" would have immediately recognized the "Terminus" reference in the post. But anyone else not familiar with the series, and still a believer in the possibility of zombies (don't judge! It's not that farfetched!) might have gone into a small panic before starting their Zombie Alert Protocol!
City spokesman Ben Kerr turned to the same Facebook page, later that day, to say that officials were investigating the bogus alert and that he wanted to "reiterate that Lake Worth does not have any zombie activity currently." Whew!!!!
