Tiffany Eichler has gone viral after pleading guilty to having sex with three of her students and being sentenced to 30 days in jail, 300 hours of community service and $1,000 fine.
I don’t have children but I am 11 1/2 years older than my younger brother and I adore him and I’m protective of him as though he was my own child. Watching something like this makes my head spin with so many questions. First of all, how does any parent keep composure finding out that a teacher, make or female, to whom you’ve trusted your child has been having sex with your kid? Secondly, what the hell is wrong with this woman and her self esteem that she would prey on young boys instead of finding and seducing a man? Thirdly, 30 days? That’s it?
The boys were 17 and 18 years old, I guess they’re old enough to know what they were doing. But shouldn’t teachers be expected to keep their hands off students even if they are legally adults? I personally think there should be a moral standard to follow outside of whether the student is a legal adult or not. Also, she said her students were blackmailing her for money after the fact... Am I wrong to think "well, who's fault is that?" If she hadn't slept with her students, she wouldn't be in a position to be blackmailed about it, right?
