I've been on stage as well as watching performances of all genres and levels of complexity since I was 4 years old. Coming from a dance and production background I was thrilled to hear I'd be covering the sneak preview of Sleeping Beauty Dreams, but I didn't really know what to expect. The press release has a lot of cool things listed on it like "first-ever fusion of live contemporary ballet dance with Real Time Avatars projected on-stage" but.... what the heck does that even look like?
I'll tell you.
It looks freaking awesome!
In all my years of watching companies from Broadway, to Alvin Ailey, to STOP and performers like Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Blue Man Group plus so many others; I have never seen anything like Sleeping Beauty Dreams. If I tried to describe it in words I'd massively fail because it's a show to be experienced, not just watched.
Here's a behind the scenes look at the production, what it encompasses and how to get your tickets.
