-the Virginia Key Advisory Board met and voted on the state of Ultra, they voted against the renewal of Ultra’s spot at Virginia Key, the vote now moves up to the City of Miami Commissioner’s Office to vote on the future of UMF returning to Virginia Key. This vote will take place on May 9th.

-Two kittens found last month inside a bag on the Palmetto Expressway are still looking for a home and up for adoption.

Miami Gardens police were called to the scene of a suspicious bag, they instead found three kittens inside. They're currently being cared for at Heroes Veterinary Clinic in Oakland Park and available for adoption, lets get them a home! 

-People who kill or seriously injure police dogs in Florida will now face tougher penalties.

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Friday making that crime a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. 

It was previously a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. 

-work begins next month on a three-year project to rebuild the Southwest First Street drawbridge over the Miami River.

 The bridge will be closed starting May 20 and reopened in June 2022, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
