Netflix just released the official trailer for season three of 13 Reasons Why and the Internet is on fire! They killed a major character, Bryce Walker, and while I’m not exactly hurting for his characters – I am very curious to see how this storyline develops.
The initial release of the show caused so much turmoil. Both parents and professionals were concerned about the way in which it depicted suicide and such glamour. Some studies even said at the risk of suicide was augmented by the show. I remember I was so worried I brought in experts to do a free Suicide Prevention workshop for parents at my dance studio GiGi’s Academy. I announced the workshop for the entire community and I was stunned by how many parents showed up concerned about their young kids having suicidal thoughts and wanting to watch the show.
Please remember, whether you are a fan of the show or not, whether your child is watching or not, it’s important to communicate about this topic with your children.
