Review: The Kitchen. Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss

Recently I wrote a blog about how I feel women are super powerful. I said that their ability to give birth was exceptionally powerful. Today, after having watched The Kitchen, I still feel that giving birth is definitely a deciding factor in the strength of women but, I realized that our strength also comes from our fearlessness.

In the movie The Kitchen the three main characters played by Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss are left to take over their husbands' mob business after the men are sent to jail. The three women take over putting themselves in dangerous situations and they do so fearlessly.

I find this to be so common in our behavior. We dive into the void without knowing its depth and without caring what’s waiting for us because ultimately, in our soul and our gut, we know we know we’ll always make it to shore. We also know that if we fail we are strong enough to recover from the blow and keep going.

This movie was not at all what I expected it to be. But the message of how strong women can be was definitely felt as I watched. Definitely a fun watch, especially because prior to sitting down for the flick we took a Scandal's Mob Tour through South Beach to visit all the spots in the city that have a mob history. It was a blast and definitely a must do if you're into history.
