As someone who's been dancing since I was 4 years old... maybe I'm biased.... but Missy Elliot was the best, most amazing, hottest, most elaborate performance of the VMAs.
I'm not just talking about how amazing it was to hear all our favorites from back in the day like "Lose Control" "Get Ur Freak On" etc, her dancers bring the music to life. They're all of us dancing to her music.
Taylor Swift's performance was really cool with the visual effects and colors. Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes sang beautifully and were all romance and glam... but Missy had a whole production from visuals, to costume changes, and dancers dancers dancers!!!!
It's not coincidence either. She even thanked the dance community when she received her Vanguard Award.
