I wanna be this guy's friend. You usually can see it coming when you're about to get fired. Your boss starts acting differently, some colleagues too, you just know sometimes.
Josh Thompson from Auckland, New Zealand had that same feeling when he got an email from his bosses telling him they needed to have a meeting to discuss his future at the company. He knew it meant he was getting canned, so he went all out, hiring an emotional support clown to come with him to the meeting.
When he shared the story on his Facebook account he said:
A while ago, I got a job. A short while later, I lost it. For anyone who hasn’t been fired, what happens is they schedule a serious meeting and advise you to bring a ‘support person’. Sensing the bad news, I decided I’d need the best support person available, so I spent $200 to hire a clown. Today, somehow, it’s the top story story in the New Zealand Herald.
Anyway, he says his bosses found the whole thing funny . . . and he already has a new job with one of their competitors.
As for the clown, he says this was not, quote, "the weirdest job I've had . . . top 10 though."
