So after reading Michelle Fay's post on Sophie Turner not having changed her last name after marrying Joe Jonas, I couldn't stop thinking about what I'm going to do when I get married.
The custom of changing your last name to the man's last name isn't one I was raised with. I was raised in Cuba where the women keep their last name and it's the child that takes on the man's last name. It's just a different way to come together as a family.
The thought of changing my name when I get married makes me feel like I'm renouncing my family and that's not something I would ever do. But I wouldn't want my fiancé to feel odd about it. I posted my concerns on Instagram to get some thoughts. I would love to hear yours too! Comment below or on the post!
