It always hurts my heart when a show that has a mostly Latino cast, produced by Latino talent gets canceled. It feels like such a struggle sometimes to keep our shows and projects on air.
Looks like ABC is cancelling Grand Hotel as they decided not to renew the summer series. The Fontainebleau in Miami beach was a big part of the backdrop for the show, which was written by Coral Gables native Brian Tanen. It featured an amazing cast including Wendy Raquel Robinson, Denyse Tontz, Roselyn Sanchez and my dear friend JenCarlos Canela.
The news broke that the show was not going to be renewed and the hashtags #BringBackGrandHotel and #SaveGrandHotel began trending on Twitter. Brian Tanen and himself confirmed the news.
