Miami International Airport's New Automated Baggage Handling System

I have mixed feelings about this because every time I see the word automated in some thing that humans Wednesday I don’t I think about humans continuing to lose their jobs to computers and robots. I also think about customer service and how difficult it is to ever get a human to talk to.

Either way, I’m rambling. There is a new automated baggage handling system at Miami international Airport that aims to increase the delivery and speed of luggage screening. It has a new explosive detection system, 52 TSA screening stations, 102 mobile inspection tables, and it is all connected by 9 miles of new conveyor belts.

The upgrade is available in concourses E, F, G, H and J. The new 324-million-dollar system is being funded by the county and a $1 million dollar TSA grant.
