Disney allegedly beat out others and paid $75 million for worldwide rights to the show. The film will be 2 hours and 40 minutes long and it will be a global theatrical release. The film will also feature the original cast. "Hamilton" received the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and has won 11 Tony Awards.
Disney has set the release date to October 15, 2021
