This month is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I wanted to take some time to highlight Shannen Doherty's story, my own familial experience, & some great resources! Even if you can’t donate to your local Miami organizations, please support by sharing & getting the word out!
My experience: For my family my big sisters fight with breast cancer was a real wake up call. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when she told me about her diagnosis. I felt helpless, sad and angry but just as big sister do she was on the other end of the phone telling me she’s going beat this and she did. We realize how blessed we are to still have her with us after all these years. She’s truly a symbol of strength in our family! - Mack
Shannen Doherty update: Shannen Doherty updated fans about her health journey while battling stage 4 breast cancer. The Beverly Hills 90210 star, who was initially diagnosed with the disease in 2015. Shannen revealed to Elle Magazine that she discovered her breast cancer had returned after experiencing sharp back pains. Doherty said she still feels healthy and “has a lot of life” left to live.
