There are heroes around us every day, and on Saturday, December 4, 2021, The BOLDMEN Initiative will host The Hero 5K Run to honor them.
The event will be held in Hollywood’s TY Park with proceeds benefiting the Hollywood police department, fire department, and EMTs. And because the run is all about heroes, everyone is invited to walk, run, fly, or teleport the length of the course. Superhero capes will be provided to all participants.
“It’s our privilege to host this event and show our appreciation for the men and women who put their lives on the line for us day in and day out,” said Eric Rogell, founder of the BOLDMEN Initiative. “And to celebrate the hero that’s in all of us.”
First responders will be on hand to connect and run with the community, and there will be a moment of silence to honor the two recently fallen Hollywood Police officers.
“The Hollywood Police Department is honored to partner with The BOLDMEN Initiative Hero 5K,” said Deanna Bettineschi, Public Information Manager for the Hollywood Police Department. “We always love the chance to interact with our residents, and are so thankful for the support from our community.”
The event is intended for the whole family, as well as for both runners and non-runners. Vendors from local businesses and restaurants will be on hand, with music and entertainment by DJ Petey.
All participants receive a Hero 5K t-shirt, a personalized race bib with RFID timing chip, a finisher medal, superhero cape, and digital personalized race completion certificate. For those who enjoy competition, there will also be podium awards for overall winners, and for each age group.
Gates open at 6:45 am, registration and packet pick up begins at 7:00 am, and the run starts at 8:00 am.
