At-home rapid testing kits are the new toilet paper of this pandemic. Sitting in line for 2 hours this past weekend it made me realize the intense need for these tests. If you were lucky enough to get one at any one of the distribution centers consider yourself lucky.

With classes back in full swing, it’s estimated that Miami-Dade County Public School district gave out upwards of 10,000 free at-home test kits for employees and their families.

“Our ability to maintain schools open depends on health conditions, and those health conditions are mitigated on the basis of personal regulations,” said M-DCPS Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

Broward County added more testing sites:

Margate Community Redevelopment Agency on Sunday. Testing took place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tamarac Sports Complex and Lauderhill Sports Park will open testing sites on Tuesday.

Miramar Youth Enrichment Center will open a testing site on Thursday. For a list of COVID-19 testing sites in Miami-Dade County, click here.
