As a global traveler, who unfortunately hasn't been traveling a whole lot over the past few years, it's important to know the "POWER" of the Passport you carry. In most cases the United States Passport is at the top of the list in terms of gaining easy access into and between other countries.
But, frequent international travelers know that this access can change in the blink of eye, which is why London based global citizen and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners puts together a super comprehensive list of the Best and Worst Passports for international travel each and every year...
Here is the "Most Powerful Passport" in the World for 2023!!!
That's right...Japan is holding down the top spot for at least the 2nd year in a row and that's because Japanese citizens enjoy visa-free or visa-on-demand access to a record 193 destinations around the world and with Global Travel having returned to around 75% of pre-pandemic levels this can be quite helpful!
Rounding out the Top 3 are Singapore and South Korea (tied for second place) who each have access to 192 destinations and Germany and Spain (tied for 3rd) with access to 190 destinations.
Wondering where the US Passport landed on this years list...
Well, were in good company at #7 with Belgium, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic with visa-free or visa-on-demand access to 185 different global destinations.
