Venezuelans In U.S. Stand In Solidarity Ahead Of Presidential Vote Sunday

Denied the ability to vote, thousands of Venezuelans from Doral, Weston and elsewhere, are joining in prayer and solidarity ahead of Sunday's crucial Presidential election.

Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro is seeking a third term in office. Overnight, there was a massive demonstration in the capital, Caracas. Maduro has claimed to be a "man of peace," yet in recent days spoke of a possible post-election “bloodbath.”

Opposition candidates include former diplomat Edmundo González Urrutia, representing the Unitary Platform coalition, and Maria Corina Machado.

The White House is showing concern about the threat of violence in Venezuela’s presidential election, regardless of the result.
