There's an update to a proposal to build a Buc-ee's along the Treasure Coast.

A rezoning request and preliminary development plan are expected to be presented to the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission next Thursday.

The gas station-retail store chain wants to build a Fort Pierce Buc-ee's at Indrio Road and I-95 that would include more than a hundred gas pumps and 800 parking spaces.

The formal site plan was submitted to the county in February and the county last month gave the owner of the land approval to remove 36 acres from the site and sell that to the county.

The preliminary plan was first submitted one year ago.

This would be the fourth Buc-ee's in Florida, with two in operation in Daytona and St. Augustine, as well as an Ocala location in the works.
