Two Miami-Dade custodians assigned to the Port of Miami have been arrested in an art theft case.

Miami-Dade Sheriff's detectives say surveillance video showed Port of Miami workers removing artwork from a terminal, loading it in their personal vehicles, and exiting the port.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office issued warrants for both subjects and upon arrest detectives say they recovered over $50,000 in artwork (pictured above).

The suspects 26-year-old Angel Prudhomme and 50-year-old Tangela Park are both charged with grand theft, according to the sheriff.

"As Sheriff of Miami-Dade County, I take individuals using their employment to steal very seriously. I am committed to ensuring that anyone involved in dishonest actions will be held accountable" - Said Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz
