As Coachella Music Festival 2022 has come to an end, with The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia closing things out with their headlining set, fans couldn't help but speculate and freak out after a seemingly personal voicemail to The Weeknd was played for the crowd.
The Weeknd, along with Swedish House Mafia filled in after headliner, Kanye West pulled out of the fest last-minute this year.
During an outro for this hit, “Save Your Tears,” a voicemail could be heard playing, and a woman’s voice says, “Hey, it’s me. I know it’s been a while but I was just thinking about you and I’m sorry about everything. I miss you.”
This set fans' heads spinning with predictions that the voicemail was from his ex-girlfriend, supermodel Bella Hadid.
The model and The Weeknd dated on-and-off between 2015 and 2019, and it's been theorized that even before the voicemail at Coachella, Hadid seemed to be a feature on at least one track of The Weeknd's Dawn FM album.
A lyric on “Here We Go… Again” is speculated to be about her: “Your girlfriend’s tryna pair you with somebody more famous / But instead you ended up with someone so basic, faceless / Someone to take your pictures and frame it.”
