A judge has officially dismissed an ongoing lawsuit that claimed Taylor Swift misappropriated the lyrics of her popular song “Shake It Off.”

Taylor was accused of stealing words from songwriters Sean Hall and Nate Butler's song, “Playas Gon' Play,” performed by 3LW.

Both 3LW's song and "Shake It Off" feature variations of the phrases, "players gonna play" and "haters gonna hate."

Before the lawsuit, Swift denied knowing anything about the song.

The case had been due to go to trial on January 17, 2023, however, on Monday (December 12) a judge dismissed the copyright lawsuit "in its entirety."

According to Variety, both parties entered into an agreement and asked for the case to be dismissed.

It’s unclear what the agreement consisted of; however, the writing credits for “Shake It Off” remain the same.

Both videos are posted below, so, do you think they sound the same?
