What happens when three Florida women floating down a river on inflatable tubes come dangerously close to an alligator? This is not a setup for a "Florida Man" joke, in fact, it was a real-life scenario for three women on Florida's Ichetucknee River.

The Ichetucknee River is near Fort White, Florida, and on nice days, it's not uncommon to see people enjoying the beautiful weather and river.

Like on Friday, May 5, Carole Chapuis, the woman who posted the TikTok video to social media, and her friends were floating down the river on their inflatable tubes when one of the ladies drifted into a log...which an alligator was perched on.

In the video, Chapuis says, "It's hissing at her!" as the woman kicks off the log and attempts to move away from the reptile.

"I've never seen a gator on the Ichetucknee ever!" the woman yells.

The story was originally posted on Storyful, and the woman told the outlet that she believed the animal could be protecting its nest, "Alligators normally go into the water when approached to get away from humans," she said.

She continued, "Chances are she was a mama gator protecting her nest that was close to her somewhere."
