Fort Lauderdale Firefighters Battle 100-Foot Yacht Blaze

Fort Lauderdale, FL - A luxury yacht moored in Fort Lauderdale erupted in flames, prompting a rapid response from local fire rescue teams.

On Saturday afternoon, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue units were dispatched to 2301 Southeast 17th Street following reports of a fire aboard a 100-foot yacht.

The blaze originated in the vessel's engine room.

Upon arrival, firefighters, including both of the department’s fire boats and an additional county fire boat, swiftly initiated efforts to control the situation.

Within approximately 20 minutes, they successfully extinguished the flames, preventing further damage to the yacht and surrounding area.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities.
