Traffic along major Miami highways and on transit in and out of downtown Miami and the airport will be affected by the President's visit.
Local traffic officials say parts of I-95 and the Dolphin Expressway may also be shut down in either direction during the day as President Trump moves about the Miami area. Miami-Dade Transit says Miami's elevated Metrorail and Metromover services may be stopped or significantly delayed due to movements by the President.
Bus services in and out of downtown Miami and Little Havana will be temporarily detoured.
Air Force One is scheduled to land at Miami International Airport at about 12:30. Trump is expected to announce changes that would restrict cash flow to the Cuban government.
He is expected to deliver a speech at approximately 1:00pm.
The location of President Trump's announcement near the heart of downtown Miami is expected to create a traffic nightmare for many commuters.
Starting at 7:00 this morning, the Miami Police Department and federal authorities are shutting down Flagler Street from the Miami River west to West 12th Avenue.
The shutdown is also in effect at the same time along Southwest First and Second streets between Eighth and 12th avenues.
