A car slammed into a Miami-Dade fire truck on the Palmetto Expressway early Thursday morning, killing one person.
Officials say the accident in the southbound lanes just before NW 74th Street around 2:30 a.m. remains under investigation.
Fire rescue crews had responded to a call of a separate hit and run crash at the location and had blocked off the road when the Hyundai vehicle hit the fire truck, killing the driver at the scene.
This morning's accidents now mean the third straight day that the Palmetto Expressway was closed completely and the second straight day the crash involved a fatality.
The road reopened shortly after 7a.m.
