The new year is bringing a pay raise for minimum-wage workers in Florida, but it's not enough to keep up with the cost of living.
As of yesterday, the state's minimum wage went up 15 cents, going from eight-dollars 10-cents an hour to eight-25. That's about six dollars more a week for someone working 40 hours.
The cost of living in Florida is estimated to increase two percent in 2018 while the minimum wage is only increasing one-point-85 percent.
