With mosquito season underway, four Florida cities are on Orkin's Top 50 Mosquito Cities list for 2018.
The pest control company ranks metro areas based on the number of new mosquito customers served over the past year. Miami-Fort Lauderdale comes in at number-8, Tampa-St. Petersburg is 14th, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne ranks 19th and West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce is 48th.
Orkin says mosquitoes continue to be a major health concern with the ability to transmit several diseases to humans, including Zika virus, West Nile virus and several types of encephalitis.
