(Miami, FL) -- The start of the Atlantic hurricane season is more than two weeks away, but forecasters are already watching a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico.
A large area of cloudiness, showers, and thunderstorms stretches from western Cuba across the southeastern gulf, the Florida Straits, and much of the Florida Peninsula. The National Hurricane Center gives the system less than a 40-percent chance of developing into a named storm.
However, it will mean continued rainfall over much of the state.
