LGBTQ+ legend Billy Porter slayed the stage at iHeartRadio's 5th annual Can't Cancel Pride event, in collaboration with Procter & Gamble® (P&G), on Wednesday night (June 12), using his voice to inspire millions. Porter showed up and showed out as this year's host, detailing life-shaping moments that led him to become the authentic, beloved queer icon he is today!

"Now I know that my queerness is a super power and it's time that the world respect that!"

He continued:

"Pride has shifted over the years...we started marching and protesting. Now it's a big celebration. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I love a party, yes darlings! A celebration! But we can't forget where we came from and how we got here. What kept my generation going was music."

Speaking of music, Porter took the mic himself to perform hit singles "Love Yourself," and the title track off his latest album, "Black Mona Lisa," leaving the audience awestruck by his undeniable passion, talent, and forever ferocity.

Can't Cancel Pride exists to shine a dazzling spotlight on the impact that music and LGBTQ+ organizations have on the queer community.

iHeartRadio presented Billy Porter with the 2024 Elton John Impact Award for his "unwavering activism in fighting for equity and liberation for marginalized people around the globe." The legendary artist was recognized for his work with a handful of non profits including the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and for his efforts in drawing awareness to a variety of causes within the LGBTQ+ community.

Other artists that took the stage at this year's Can't Cancel Pride event included Ben Platt, Meghan Trainor, David Archuleta, Melissa Etheridge, Orville Peck, Victoria Monét, RAYE, and Allison Russell.

Can't Cancel Pride kicks off a month-long Pride party slated to continue through June. Fans can use the hashtag #CantCancelPride to follow along with the continued celebration on social media, and support LGBTQ+ nonprofits via cantcancelpride.com!
